Teddy Bridgewater will be eligible to come off the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list after Week 6, and a report today suggests he’ll be ready to play by then.
Here’s the big news from Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.
“In three weeks, Teddy Bridgewater will be eligible to return from the Physically Unable to Perform list and to practice with the team. One source with knowledge of the situation says that Bridgewater will be ready to go, but that the Vikings likely will proceed with caution.”
If Bridgewater is ready he will likely remain on the sidelines as the backup quarterback as long as Sam Bradford is healthy.
Ah, good point. Bradford isn’t healthy right now.
If Bradford’s injury remains a problem in three weeks, the Vikings would have to decide between Case Keenum and Bridgewater. And if Keenum continues playing like he did against Tampa Bay, the Vikings would have a hard time making a case to simply give the keys back to Bridgewater.
Nonetheless, this is great news for Bridgewater, who’s been on the road back for nearly 13 months.
