Minnesota State got the victory in their 3-2 decision Friday thanks to a game-winner by Sean Flanagan with 3:10 left in the third period.
The Seawolves couldn’t keep Saturday’s contest as close, as Johnny Mcinnis scored twice on the power play, two of the five goals the Mavericks got on the man-advantage in a 7-3 win.
J.P. Lafontaine added two lamp-lighters of his own, and Minnesota State became the fourth team in the WCHA to reach double-digit points, sitting just one point behind second place Bemidji State.
WCHA BEMIDJI STATE: The Beavers struggled over the weekend against No. 12 Miami (OH), but managed a tie Friday with the Redhawks before losing 6-3 Saturday.
