The Minnesota Twins earned at least a split of a four-game series with the Cleveland Indians on Saturday as Miguel Sano hit two home runs to help the Twins earn a 3-0 victory at Target Field.
Sano’s offensive explosion was the story of the game considering he came in 1-for-17 at the plate in the first week of the season. In the third inning, Sano hit his first homer of the game off Carlos Carrasco, smashing a liner into the Twins’ bullpen to give Minnesota a 1-0 lead.

Eddie Rosario added another run with his second home run of the season to double the Twins lead in the fourth inning and Sano doubled down in the fifth with a liner inside the left-field foul pole for his second home run of the night.

Backed with a 3-0 lead, Kenta Maeda did the rest for the Twins with a hit, a walk, and six strikeouts in six shutout innings to hand the game to the bullpen.
The combination of Trevor May and Cody Stashak paved the way for Taylor Rogers to pick up his third save of the year and the Twins improved to 6-2 on the season.
The finale of the four-game set will take place on Sunday afternoon at Target Field when Homer Bailey takes the mound for the Twins against Aaron Civale with first pitch scheduled for 1:10 p.m.
