The Miami Heat extended its win streak to a franchise record 15 games with a 97-81 win over the Timberwolves at Target Center on Monday night.
Minnesota trailed 76-70 in the fourth quarter before an unfortunate series of events happened:
- J.J. Barea gets ejected after drawing a flagrant-2 foul for knocking Ray Allen to the ground.
- Rick Adelman earns a technical foul for arguing Barea’s ejection.
- Alexey Shved’s three-pointer is waived off due to a tripping foul called on him after he released the shot.
By the time all of that was over the game was essentially over because the NBA champs had regained all of the momentum. They closed the game on a 21-to-9 run.
LeBron James had 20 points and 10 rebounds and Dwyane Wade put up 32 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists.
Derrick Williams scored 25 points to lead Minnesota. Ricky Rubio finished with 14 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds 6 steals (and 6 turnovers).
