One team’s trash is another team’s treasure.
McLeod Bethel-Thompson isn’t trash, but he’s now a member of the defending NFC champs.
The 49ers claimed Bethel-Thompson off waivers today, just one day after he was released by the Vikings to make room on the roster for Josh Freeman.
According to the Star Tribune, the Vikings were hoping Bethel-Thompson would go unclaimed so they could resign him to the practice squad.
ProFootballTalk reports that Bethel-Thompson will take the roster spot of Josh Skelton, who was cut by San Francisco. MBT was on the 49ers roster in 2011.
