After dominating performances in last week’s win over No. 1 Indiana and Sunday’s victory over Penn State, sixth-year Senior Trevor Mbakwe has been named the Big Ten college basketball player of the week.
Mbakwe posted a pair of double-doubles in those two games, with 21 points and 12 rebounds against the Hoosiers and 13 points and 13 rebounds against the Nittany Lions.
Mbakwe is the second Gopher to win the Big Ten player of the week honor this season, joining point guard Andre Hollins who won it last November.
