The Minnesota Lynx could have nailed down the championship in Indianapolis Sunday night. But with the loss, they bring the do-or-die final Game 5 to their hometown fans with a Wednesday night showdown at Target Center in downtown Minneapolis.

The Star Tribune reports it was an off night for the Lynx, who fell to the Indiana Fever 75-69 in their contest at Bankers Life Field house in Indianapolis.
At halftime, the Lynx were within striking distance, with the score standing at 36-32. But the team struggled in the second half and never came close to closing the gap.
The Associated Press notes that the Fever’s Shenise Johnson and Marissa Coleman were both hot from the floor, adding 15 and 14 points respectively.

Meanwhile, Minnesota’s Sylvia Fowles lived up to her name and got into foul trouble. Maya Moore tossed in 18 points for the Lynx, with Lindsay Whalen scoring 16 and Seimone Augustus finishing with 10.

This is the first WNBA Finals to go five games since 2009. Minnesota is trying to win its third title in five seasons. The Lynx won their previous two championships on the road in Atlanta in 2011 and 2013. Now they’ll have a chance to win one on their home court.
