Bad news is potentially looming for the defending NBA champions. Kevin Love, who won’t play Tuesday in his return to Minnesota, is seeking a second opinion on his injured left knee, according to The News-Herald.
The Cavaliers haven’t disclosed the results of an MRI done on Love’s knee Sunday, but the News-Herald writes that Love’s second opinion “suggests that something was detected.”
It’s unclear when Love hurt his knee. He played 34 minutes in Saturday’s win over the Nuggets. Afterward, he experienced “continued soreness and effusion,” according to an official statement from the team.
Love didn’t play in Cleveland’s 28-point win over Minnesota two weeks ago because of back spasms.
Love is 2-0 with Cleveland at Target Center, winning last season and during 2014-15 when he had 14 points and 17 rebounds in his first game against back in Minnesota.
