Wolves forward Kevin Love will be named to Team USA Basketball’s list of 28 players that will be eligible to compete for the national team from 2014-2016, ESPN reports.
A list obtained Wednesday night has Love, Lebron James, and Kevin Durant among others headlining the pool of players that will be reduced to 12 for various tournaments over the next three years including the 2014 FIBA World Championships and 2016 Olympics.
Love and Durant have already committed to playing in the upcoming World Championships in Spain, while a report early Wednesday revealed Rockets center Dwight Howard may do the same, which would be his first international action since 2008. Many of the other big names on the list are expected to skip the competition.
Minnesota’s leading scorer and rebounder, Love has become international mainstay, winning gold with team USA at the 2010 FIBA World Championships and the 2012 Olympics.
