Brian Dozier apparently really likes hitting in Los Angeles.
The 31-year-old former Twins star is just two games into his career with the Dodgers and he already has five hits, two of them homers and two of the doubles.
He homered in his second at-bat of Wednesday’s game and he blasted off again in L.A.’s 21-4 blowout win over the Brewers. This one was a 3-run shot over the left-field wall.
Dozier finished the game going 2-for-5 with the homer, a double and four RBI. Oh, and so much for the L.A. Times report that suggested Dozier won’t be an everyday starter. There’s no way manager Dave Roberts can keep him out of the lineup if he’s hitting like this.
Dozier is known for his second-half power surges, having slugged a combined 40 homers in August onward in 2016 and 2017, and that’s two more so far in August 2018 with the Dodgers.
In all, the Dodgers hit seven homers and scored a Dodger Stadium record 21 runs.
