Against all odds, the world didn’t stop turning Thursday night when Joe Mauer and Zach Parise – Minnesota’s most popular (and criticized) baseball and hockey stars – got together for dinner at a local restaurant.
We’re not attempting to be TMZ, but a story like this is random and entertaining. Plus, it’s Friday, a good time for some fun.–
The two gents were able to, without even trying, capture the hearts of two women eating a couple of tables away at Burch Steakhouse and Pizza Bar, in Uptown. Thanks to Twitter, the ladies documented their experience.

I don't care about Joe Mauer or that hockey dude but I really want to tell my Dad and my phone wont stop being dead which is a real bummer.

Update: Zach has laughed at least five times so he IS ABLE to still have a life despite this HELL HOLE of a season. Good for you, Zach.

It’s good to get a report of Parise laughing. Last week, Parise and his family laid his father, former North Star J.P. Parise, to rest after he lost his life to lung cancer.
The Wild are currently on break for this weekend’s NHL All-Star festivities. Parise is one of a few players on the team putting together a strong season; 19 goals rank 11th in the league.
Earlier Thursday, Parise held a meet-and-greet at Target in Edina as part of a cough drops sponsorship. KSTP has the details.

Mauer, meanwhile, will be at TwinsFest at Target Field signing autographs Friday through Sunday. Earlier this week WJON in St. Cloud caught up with the former MVP when the Twins Caravan made a stop in St. Cloud.
For the record, both Mauer and Parise were dining with their wives. And ironically enough, both families welcomed twin babies to their families within the last two years.
