Injuries to Samuel Deduno (biceps tendinitis) and Oswaldo Arcia (sore wrist) are causing a stir in the Twins’ organization.
The Pioneer Press reports that Twins’ officials are frustrated with the young players for failing to inform anyone of their injuries right away.
“You need communication from the player,” assistant general manager Rob Antony said. “You’d like to know about it so you can treat them while they’re fighting through it.”
Deduno informed the media on Sunday that he’s been pitching through pain in his shoulder for most of August. Arcia didn’t mention his injury until today, even though he had felt pain in his wrist the previous two games.
The Star Tribune reports that Deduno will throw in the bullpen Wednesday, and if that goes well
Note: Joe Mauer was scratched from the lineup on Tuesday with a bout of dizziness, according to the Star Tribune.
