Former Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Kurt Rambis has been named the interim head coach of the New York Knicks, the team announced Monday after firing head coach Derek Fisher.
Rambis coached the Timberwolves from 2009-2011 and compiled a 32-132 win/loss record. He was fired by the Wolves and replaced by Rick Adelman, who stepped down a couple of years ago and was replaced by the late Flip Saunders.
That win/loss record for Rambis is no misprint, and it’s being noticed by some of the NBA’s top wise guys. The reaction is comical.

The Knicks fired Fisher a day after losing for the ninth time in ten games.
Fisher had no coaching experience prior to being given a five-year, $25 million deal to coach the Knicks. In fact, the New York Post points out that Fisher was hired as coach just nine days after retiring as a player.
