Now that the Gophers are bowl-eligible, where will they play next month?
The most-likely scenario is in the Mieneke Car Care Bowl of Texas, played on Dec. 28. According to SBNation.com, the Gophers will likely face a Big 12 team like theWest Virginia Mountaineersor TCU Horned Frogs.
Other possibilities? Perhaps the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl in Arizona. But Minnesota will need to beat either Nebraska or Michigan State in the final two weeks to move up in the Big 10 bowl hierarchy.
The Gophers also announced today that their regular season final, against the Spartans on Nov. 24, will be at 2:30 p.m. at TCF Bank Stadium.
But first, it’s the Cornhuskers in Lincoln this Saturday. This week Kill and his coaching crew are busy trying find fill gaps on the offensive line after his top two centers — Jon Christenson and Zach Mottla — were injured Saturday in the victory over Illinois. Starting guard Zac Epping — also the third-string center — finished the game snapping the ball to quarterback Philip Nelson.
