Might Twins Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew someday be honored with his face on a U.S. postage stamp?
His widow Nita told MPR News that she wants the many fans who admired Killebrew to join the campaign to make the idea a reality. She asks that they write to the Postal Service with their support.
“You can never write too many letters,” she said in an interview.
The effort even has a Twitter account to promote the idea that the Killer belongs on a future stamp.

On the team website, the Twins also urge fans to lend their voices to the campaign to get Killebrew on a future stamp. They ask fans to write a letter expressing support to:

Killebrew’s legacy and philanthropic efforts are kept alive on the website harmankillebrew.com, operated by his widow. It notes that Killebrew, who was signed by the Washington Senators in 1954 when he was 17, played in the majors for 22 years. He was named American League All-Star 13 times, the 1969 American League MVP and a six-time American League home run leader. In 1984, Killebrew entered the Baseball Hall of Fame.
He died of esophageal cancer in 2011 at the age of 74.
