There is still no timetable for Jerry Kill’s return to the sidelines on Gophers football game days, but he is making progress in his attempt to gain better control over his epilepsy.
According to FOX Sports North, Kill won’t resume coaching this weekend when the Gophers play at Indiana.
“My daddy always used to say if it ain’t broke, don’t try to fix it,” Kill said. “So I ain’t really going to fix anything. My ego ain’t that big. I just want to win.”
Kill added optimism by saying he’s going to be driving by February, which he needs to be seizure free to do so.
The Star Tribune reports that Kill has been working behind the scenes with recruiting and meetings.
Kill hasn’t resumed his head coaching duties since suffering a seizure the morning before the Gophers lost at Michigan on October 5.
The Gophers have gone 2-1 in that stretch, with back-to-back victories over Northwestern and Nebraska. They can make it three in a row with a win at Indiana (3-4) on Saturday.
