The Gopher women’s basketball team won their second straight game on Wednesday night as they beat Wisconsin 93-82 at Williams Arena.
Shae Kelley had a big night for Minnesota. She had a double-double with 33 points and 14 rebounds, but she wasn’t alone. Amanda Zahui B. also had a big night, scoring 21 points and grabbing 13 boards.
It was Zahui’s 18th double-double of the season and Kelley’s 10th.
The Gophers didn’t shoot that well, just 41 percent on the night, but they won the game by getting to the free throw line. Minnesota was 22 of 25 from the charity stripe compared to the Badgers’ 10 of 11.
Gopher freshman Carlie Wagner continued to play well. The Big Ten Freshman of the Week put together another solid night with 17 points.
Nicole Baumann had 22 to lead the Badgers, while Dakota Whyte posted a double-double with 20 points and 10 assists.
Minnesota (19-6, 8-5) travels to Penn State on Sunday.
