Karl-Anthony Towns of the Timberwolves is furious about President Donald Trump’s tweet aimed at NBA superstar LeBron James.
Trump, in just 142 characters, found a way to say LeBron isn’t smart, called CNN’s Don Lemon the “dumbest man on television” and threw in his opinion on who the best basketball player of all time is – he thinks it’s Michael Jordan.
Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon. He made Lebron look smart, which isn’t easy to do. I like Mike!

Trump posted the tweet at 10:37 p.m. Central Time. Less than two hours later Towns responded, telling the president to “shut your damn mouth,” encouraging him to stop tweeting and stop helping troubled cities like Flint, Michigan.
So let me get this straight: Flint, MI has dirty water still, but you worried about an interview about a man doing good for education and generations of kids in his hometown? Shut your damn mouth! Stop using them twitter fingers and get stuff done for our country with that pen. https://t.co/sEkX3OKaJM

This isn’t the first time Towns has made his political opinions public. Last year, Towns penned a powerful column on racism after the racial clash in Charlottesville, Virginia on Aug. 12, 2017.
“I was shocked by how our President responded to Charlottesville,” Towns wrote for The Players’ Tribune. “Our President was given a layup: Denounce white supremacists. And he couldn’t … and wouldn’t. He missed … he missed badly.”
Towns added in his column: “It’s really hard to see our president refuse to stand up for what’s right — at a time when the country needs it.”
Meanwhile, the Twitter users have found quite a few tweets from Trump that praised LeBron in the past.
Dear Bron, I wrote you but you still ain't call me…pic.twitter.com/Gcd4hMLqLf

Lemon was interviewing LeBron about the new school he built in his hometown Akron, Ohio to help at-risk kids.
