The Minnesota Timberwolves were about to roll out their new roster at full strength on Wednesday night as D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns were both expected to be on the floor when the Wolves hosted the Charlotte Hornets. Those plans have changed, however, as Towns will miss the game with a wrist injury.

The injury was revealed when Towns underwent an MRI on his wrist on Wednesday and after the Wolves received the results, they decided to shut their star center down through this weekend’s All-Star break and re-evaluate early next week.
This comes at a rough time for Towns, who also bought 1,000 tickets along with Russell for fans to see their new star duo in action. Instead, Towns will be on the bench and Russell will try to guide a team that has lost 13 of its past 14 games.
With Russell also missing the first chance for the pair to make their home debut after nursing a bruised quadriceps in the Wolves victory on Saturday night, fans will have to wait to see Russell and Towns on their home court.
