Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns could return to the court on Saturday night after missing the last two weeks with a dislocated wrist.
The Timberwolves have listed Towns as questionable for Saturday night’s game against the San Antonio Spurs, which could be a huge shot in the arm for the team.
Towns injured his wrist on Dec. 26 against the Utah Jazz and the Timberwolves have lost all six games by an average of 20 points. With Towns in the lineup, the Timberwolves won their first two games of the season with Towns averaging 19.0 points and 11.5 rebounds.
While there is optimism regarding Towns’ injury, which was labeled as week-to-week, it should be cautious. Last season, the Timberwolves listed Towns as questionable for nearly two weeks as Towns recovered from a knee injury in December. It’s not known whether the Wolves would use the same tactic, but it adds a wrinkle in his status on the injury report.

Despite the uncertainty, Towns has been pushing to rejoin the lineup as soon as possible according to The Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski.
