Justin Jefferson is sick of hearing about all the trade talk surrounding the Vikings.
Speaking to reporters Thursday, the star receiver responded to a question about handling the ups and downs of an NFL season.
“You kind of have to accept it. You have to learn from the battles that you face. At the end of the day, it’s not going to be perfect every time,” Jefferson said.
“There’s things you have to go through throughout the season to really tell if you’re going to a great team or not,” Jefferson continued. “Of course, we’re handling the adversity earlier in the season with the turnovers and being 0-3 to start. But there’s a whole bunch more games to go. I’m tired of people saying we’re looking to next season. All of the trades and stuff like that. We’re focused still on this season. We have a lot more games to go and a lot more things to accomplish this season. We’re still focused in and we still have that same goal as we had before the season. We just need to fix a few things and we’ll be back on track.”
Even before the Vikings’ loss to the Chargers last Sunday there was speculation and rumors the Vikings could trade quarterback Kirk Cousins to replace the injured Aaron Rodgers in New York. That speculation ramped up into overdrive after Sunday’s 28-24 loss.
While Jefferson may lead the league in receiving yards (458), it’s come during an 0-3 start where the team has a league-high nine turnovers.
