NBA free agents can begin verbally agreeing to contracts at 11:01 p.m. Thursday, but it appears the Wolves won’t be borrowing a pen to veteran power forward Joakim Noah.
According to ESPN, Noah’s “runaway preference” is to sign with the New York Knicks. The Washington Post has a report that says Noah will likely sign there at an average of $18 million per year.
Noah has been linked to the Timberwolves because of his strong relationship with Tom Thibodeau, the Wolves’ new head coach and president who coached Noah for five years in Chicago.
Even with the obvious traction of Joakim Noah to the Knicks, I'm told he still plans on meeting with three teams, the Knicks 1st among them.
