Timberwolves All-Star guard Jimmy Butler finally addressed a report that said he has no plans to sign an extension with the Timberwolves.
In an Instagram story, Butler was quoted as saying: “We in the states. No we’re not. That’s right, we in Greece. Still working. I missed everything about me not wanting to be here and be there. I’m working.”
The message then cuts off midway through Butler’s next sentence, but it sounds like he was finishing his thought by saying: “I know where I want to be.”
Chicago Sun-Times columnist Joe Cowley reported earlier this week that Butler doesn’t like the “nonchalant” attitudes of young Wolves players, specifically Karl-Anthony Towns. He also reported that Butler and Kyrie Irving are exploring ways to play together.
Butler’s agent, Bernie Lee, told Jace Frederick of the Pioneer Press that if Butler has a problem with anyone on the team, that player would’ve already known about it – they wouldn’t have heard about it in a newspaper.
While that may be true, neither Lee or Butler has flat out denied Cowley’s report.
