The Vikings’ offseason programs are underway and players were working hard at practice on Wednesday.
Vikings.com has snippets of interviews with Chad Greenway, Erin Henderson, Matt Cassel, Matt Kalil and Christian Ponder, who says there is a “good dynamic” at the wide receiver position.
Ponder also told the story of a rushed trip to the emergency room he had to make a few weeks after the season ended. The elbow injury that kept him out of the playoff game against Green Bay flared up and gave him a good scare.
New wide receiver Greg Jennings, who had spent his entire career with the Packers, said it wasn’t weird at all wearing Vikings colors. In fact, his practice clothes look “really good” and fit “really nicely.”
Backup quarterback Matt Cassel joked that he taught Tom Brady everything he knows from his time as Brady’s backup in New England. In all seriousness, Cassel said it’s important that he and Ponder develop a great relationship.
Greg Childs tells Vikings.com that he feels “pretty good” and hopes to be healthy when training camp opens in August. Childs suffered serious injuries to both of his knees during a single play at training camp last season.
Fellow receiver Jerome Simpson tells the Pioneer Press that he is completely healed of a pinched nerve that slowed him down all of last season.
