He’s still learning a new offense, so it’s no surprise that Greg Jennings is excited to get more playing time Sunday night when the Vikings visit the 49ers.
“In my opinion, I need the work because I haven’t been here,” Jennings told FOX Sports North. “This is a new system, a new quarterback, a new team chemistry, so I need the work.
“I’ve got to feel comfortable in the offense in a game setting. In practice, it’s cool. I’ve got it,” he added. “Everything is kind of habitual now. But in the game, things kind of change up. You’ve got an opponent who’s going to throw some different looks, unscouted looks at you. You may not have prepared for it.”
Head coach Leslie Frazier told the Pioneer Press that they are “treating this week more like what would we do if we were preparing for a regular-season game, just to introduce our guys to the way we would do things from a schedule standpoint.”
The starters are expected to play the entire first half, perhaps even a few snaps in the third quarter.
