We won’t try and re-tell Othyus Jeffers story, because the Associated Press’ Jon Krawczynski did it better than we ever could.
In short, battling for the Wolves final roster spot could be described as a walk in the park for Jeffers, who has lost two brothers, while having to save his sister and a brother in the middle of a shootout in his hometown of Chicago, and getting shot in the process.
On the court, multiple injuries have derailed Jeffers’ dreams of an NBA career, including an ACL tear just weeks before he was going to sign with Washington and now-Minnesota Basketball Operations President Flip Saunders.
Saunders has nothing but good things to say about Jeffers, as you can read in Krawczynski’s full article, and now he just has to beat out Robbie Hummel and Lorenzo Brown to make the Wolves 15-man roster.
