The Minnesota Twins have not announced a starter for Saturday’s game in Oakland. With an opening in the rotation for a mix of reasons, the Twins could be looking to one of their top prospects to make his Major League debut.
The most likely candidates to get the start on Saturday appear to be either Trevor May or Kris Johnson.
It seems like Twins will either call up Trevor May or Kris Johnson for Saturday. May last started Monday, while Johnson last started Aug. 1.

Johnson has made three starts for the Twins already this season. He is 0-1 with a 4.73 ERA, he has struck out 12 and walked 13.
Twinkie Town points out that May has made back-to-back starts for Triple A Rochester, since returning from his injury. He also would be on 5-days rest since last pitching on Monday. If there ever was a time for the promotion, now might be it.
Another prospect, Alex Meyer, actually is on six-days rest, but promoting him would require a spot on the 40-man roster. Meyer is also on an innings limit this season.
Logan Darnell, who was recently demoted could be another option.
But there’s no question which one is the popular pick.
