Progress on the Vikings’ stadium front has been made.
According to FOXSportsNorth.com, the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Authority’s investigation of Vikings owner, Zygi Wilf, and team president, Mark Wilf, is running smoothly thanks to financial documents the Vikings provided the authority this week.
“We’re feeling really positive about the process at this point,” MSFA chair Michele Kelm-Helgen told FOXSportsNorth.com.
The investigation was deemed necessary by the MSFA to ensure the Wilfs, who are under the gun for a 21-year-old civil lawsuit for fraud in New Jersey, have the financial wherewithal to pay for their portion of the new stadium.
It’s positive development to a story that took a wrong turn late last week when the Vikings broke off stadium development talks, and didn’t plan to resume discussions until the authority’s “due diligence” was complete.
The Vikings maintain that the stadium project remains on time and on budget.
