The Hornets got the best of the beat-up Timberwolves Sunday with a 109-98 win at Target Center.

The Wolves did put up a fight with seven players scoring in double-digits. Gorgui Dieng stepped up with 16 points and eight rebounds, according to NBA.com. Kevin Martin hit 15 points and had nine assists. Zach LaVine had 11 points.
Former Wolves teammate Mo Williams played a strong game for the Hornets with 24 points. In his month and a half as a Hornet, NBA.com says Williams has “helped keep that team in the playoff hunt.”
Minnesota had a 13-point lead with under two minutes left in the first half, but the Hornets picked up the momentum and flew ahead with an 11-2 run before halftime.
The Wolves roster is still beat up. Gary Neal went out with a sprained ankle. Ricky Rubio and Nikola Pekovic were also sidelined with ankle injuries. Kevin Garnett is nursing a knee injury, and Justin Hamilton sat out with a migraine.
The Wolves have a quick turnaround, traveling to play the Utah Jazz on Monday.
