Hockey Day Minnesota is heading to Stillwater in 2017.
The Minnesota Wild, FOX Sports North and Minnesota Hockey made the announcement Thursday that the 11th Annual Wells Fargo Hockey Day Minnesota in 2017 will be held outdoors in Stillwater’s Lowell Park right along the shores of the St. Croix River.
“The Stillwater community is rich in high school sports tradition and we are excited at the opportunity to showcase the scenic Stillwater downtown with the second-to-none Hockey Day Minnesota event,” said Tom Sagissor of Stillwater’s Local Organizing Committee.

Hockey Day Minnesota was started in 2007 by the Minnesota Wild to celebrate the sport that made Minnesota the State of Hockey. The event is produced in partnership with FOX Sports North, Minnesota Hockey and the host community.
This year the event was held in Duluth. Other locations have included Baudette Bay, Phalen Park, Hermantown, Moorhead, Minnetonka, Grand Rapids, Elk River and St. Paul.
Organizers believe the event in Stillwater will continue with the event’s rich history.

The official date, the participating teams, and the schedule for Hockey Day Minnesota will be announced later this year.
