The Gophers-Penn State men’s college basketball game scheduled for Wednesday night in Pennsylvania should go on as planned despite a historic winter storm crushing the East Coast.
Winter Storm Juno is expected to dump upwards of 2-3 feet of snow and produce winds up to 65 miles per hour in places like New York, Boston and the massive swath of New England, according to The Weather Channel. It’s the kind of blizzard that would make Minnesotans antsy.
Fortunately for the Gophers, the Nittany Lions’ home in State College is on the fringe of the worst of the storm. A University of Minnesota spokesperson told the Star Tribune that they are “monitoring the weather but have no plans to change.”

NBA games scheduled for Monday night between the Knicks and Kings and Nets and Trail Blazers have already been postponed, according to Sporting News.

Michigan State and Rutgers were scheduled to play Tuesday night in New Jersey, but the schools announced Monday that the game has been postponed.

After starting the Big Ten season with six straight losses, the Gophers have rattled off a pair of wins to move into 11th place in the conference.
