Even though the Twins finished with the worst record in all of baseball last season, the bright side is that they’ll have the top pick in the MLB Draft next June.
The Twins could go in two directions, they could take a polished college product or take a raw athlete out of high school.
One player that’s gathering a ton of attention is Hunter Greene, a right-handed pitcher at Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California.
Greene touched 100 mph in his last outing and it’s a big reason why so many outlets are so high on him.
Baseball America, USA Today and Max Preps all agree that he’s the top prospect among prep players. MLB.om also lists him as the No. 1 prospect in the 2017 MLB Draft class.
He’s also played some played shortstop on his high school team too.
Greene is committed to play baseball at UCLA, but he could forgo that scholarship if he feels he’s ready to enter the big leagues.
