With training camp coming to close and roster being cut down to 53 players, the Vikings have signed eight players to their practice squad.
- RB Khari Blasingame
- QB Jake Browning
- T Aviante Collins
- DE Stacy Keely
- DB Nate Meadors
- WR Dillon Mitchell
- LB Cameron Smith
- LB Devante Downs
Both Smith and Mitchell were selected in this year’s NFL Draft in the fifth and seventh rounds respectively.
Meanwhile, Browning is the lone quarterback on the practice squad after the team decided to part ways with Kyle Sloter, who reportedly landed on the Arizona Cardinals practice squad.
The team also opted to cut kicker/punter Kaare Vedvik who was acquired from Baltimore in the middle of training camp for a fifth-round draft pick. Vedvik was picked up by the Jets via waivers.
Minnesota native and wide receiver Brandon Zylstra was also picked up on waivers by the Carolina Panthers.
The Vikings will open the regular season on Sept. 8 at U.S. Bank Stadium against the Atlanta Falcons.
