Here’s the starting nine for the Twins when they take on the New York Yankees in the American League Wild Card tonight.
- Brian Dozier, 2B
- Joe Mauer, 1B
- Jorge Polanco, SS
- Eddie Rosario, LF
- Eduardo Escobar, 3B
- Max Kepler, RF
- Byron Buxton, CF
- Jason Castro, C
- Robbie Grossman, DH
Grossman rounding off the order is a great move. His .361 on-base percentage is second on the team and if he’s able to get on, you have the top of the order ready to drive him in.
Miguel Sano was held off the wild-card roster.
First pitch between the two teams is set for 7:09 p.m. at Yankee Stadium. Ervin Santana will start on the mound for Minnesota, while New York will toss Luis Severino.
Here’s who the Yankees will be trotting out against Santana.
- Brett Gardner, LF
- Aaron Judge, RF
- Gary Sanchez, C
- Didi Gregorius, SS
- Starlin Castro, 2B
- Greg Bird, 1B
- Aaron Hicks, CF
- Jacoby Ellsbury, DH
- Todd Frazier, 3B
