After the Golden Gophers play Macalester College in an exhibition game Nov. 2, the 2023-24 regular season begins with seven non-conference games followed by the Big Ten men’s basketball opener at Ohio State on Dec. 3.
That Dec. 3 game against the Buckeyes will feature Minnesota going up against small forward Jamison Battle, who left the Gophers via the transfer portal after last season’s 9-22 record.
All seven non-conference games will be played at Williams Arena.

After facing Ohio State Dec. 3 and Nebraska on Dec. 6, the Gophers play four more non-conference games — all at home against Florida Gulf Coast, IUPUI, Ball State and Maine — before the full Big Ten schedule arrives in January.

The 2023-24 Gophers are expected to be led by sophomores Pharrel Payne, Joshua Ola-Joseph, Braeden Carrington, junior Dawson Garcia, freshman guard Cam Christie, transfer guard Mike Mitchell, redshirt junior Isaiah Ihnen, redshirt freshman Kadyn Betts, redshirt senior Parker Fox and grad transfer Jack Wilson.
