Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway tells FOX Sports North that he’ll be 100 percent healthy when training camp begins in late July.
The two-time Pro Bowl linebacker underwent minor “clean up” surgery last week.
Earlier on Tuesday, Greenway was on the NFL Network, talking up the 2013 squad.
He says wide receiver Greg Jennings is already a great voice in the locker room who will help quarterback Christian Ponder develop.
“For our receiving corps to have him and for our team to have him is a huge step for us,” Greenway said, adding that Jennings will help quarterback Christian Ponder develop. “We’re hoping that those two will hook up a ton this year.” for some big plays.”
Greenway also says Ponder has the most pressure on him, but he predicts the third-year quarterback will take a “big step” up.
As for returning to the playoffs, Greenway says other things have to happen, separate from an improved Ponder:
“We have to continue our running game on offense, obviously,” he said. “Defensively we just have to continue to get better against the pass, continue to get off the field in critical situations; third down and long – really any third down. And then be great in two-minute.”
