A four goal second period sparked the Gopher men’s hockey team to a high-scoring 7-5 victory over Wisconsin in Madison Friday night.
It wasn’t the kind of contest that you would have expected with Adam Wilcox and Joe Rumpel lining up in net for Minnesota and Wisconsin.
The win for the Gophers followed a weekend in which they lost both of their games in the North Star Classic, falling to both Minnesota State and Minnesota Duluth.
Trailing 3-1 in the second, Minnesota finally got the offense rolling.
Seth Ambroz, Vinni Lettieri, Jake Bischoff and Leon Bristedt all netted goals during that decisive second period.

The Gophers (12-9-2, 3-2-2) and Badgers continue their series in Madison on Saturday evening. The puck drops at seven.
