The Gophers’ Andre Hollins scored 41 points Friday to lead Minnesota to an 84-75 victory over 19th-ranked Memphis in the consolation round of the Battle4Atlantis tournament in the Bahamas.
The Star Tribune reports Hollins’ 41 points is the highest total by a Gophers player since Ollie Shannon tied the record with 42 points against Wisconsin in 1971.
Hollins went 12-of-16 in shooting, and he was a sterling 5-for-5 from 3-point range, SBNation noted.
Minnesota will play the winner of the Stanford-Northern Iowa consolation game at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
