Could the bright lights of the NFL be calling Maxx Williams‘ name? Maybe!
The Gophers tight end told reporters when asked on Wednesday that he would wait until after the Citrus Bowl before deciding whether he would return to the University of Minnesota or enter the NFL Draft.
Williams, a redshirt sophomore, would be eligible to enter the draft this spring.

Just like Ra'Shede Hageman did his junior year, Maxx Williams will get feedback from an advisory committee on where he would get drafted.

Williams and the rest of the Gophers are preparing to face Missouri in the Citrus Bowl. It is Minnesota’s first New Year’s Day bowl game since 1962.
Williams led the Gophers with 29 receptions for 471 yards and seven touchdowns this season, and has been getting some national acclaim.
He was also named to two more All American teams on Wednesday as the Sporting News and the Football Writers Association of America named Williams to their All American First Team.

Additionally, he was named a finalist for the Mackey Trophy, which is presented to college football’s best tight end. He was also chosen a second-team All American by Walter Camp and the Associated Press.
Williams also won the Kwalick-Clark Trophy, which is presented to the Big Ten’s top tight end.
