The second-ranked Gopher women’s hockey team shutout St. Cloud State again Friday 4-0 in the first game of a two-game series.
The two teams have already faced each other this season, with the Gophers winning 12-0 and 7-0 on their own ice in early December. This is the team’s 24th straight win over the Huskies, according to Gopher Sports.
Junior Maryanne Menefee led the Gophers with two goals. She was named the WCHA Player of the Week after earning seven points in last weekend’s sweep of MSU Mankato, Gopher sports reports.
Meghan Lorence and Nina Rodgers put the other two points on the board.
Junior Hannah Brandt put her name in the record books as the 7th Gopher to pass 200 career points.
