A big week for the Gopher women’s basketball team (20-6, 9-5) wouldn’t have been possible without some big-time performances from Shae Kelley and Carlie Wagner.
On Monday, the Big Ten rewarded their performances with awards.
Kelley, who averaged 28 points and 11.5 rebounds in the two wins was named the Big Ten Player of the Week. It’s Kelley’s third Player of the Week award this season. Teammate Amanda Zahui B. has won three Player of the Week awards, too.
Wagner, who scored 17 points in both games, was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week. It’s the second straight award for Wagner.

Despite winning three in a row and climbing up the Big Ten standings in a tie with Northwestern (19-6, 9-5) and Ohio State (17-9, 9-5), the Gophers remain on the outside looking in at the Associated Press Top 25 poll.
Minnesota is back in action with a huge game Tuesday night at Williams Arena against No. 13 Iowa.
