According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Minnesota Gophers running back Darius Taylor will reportedly miss Saturday’s game against Louisiana with a leg injury.
Taylor was injured late in last week’s loss against Northwestern after running for 198 yards and two touchdowns on 31 carries. His performance helped him win the Big Ten Freshman of the Week Award for the third straight week and the Detroit native has racked up 532 yards and four touchdowns through Minnesota’s first four games.
With Taylor on the sidelines, Bryce Williams is projected to get the start for Minnesota, but the senior has logged just 30 yards on 11 carries so far this season.
The Gophers (2-2) will kick off against Louisiana at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning.
