The Gopher men’s basketball team fell apart on the road Saturday, dropping their regular season finale against Purdue, 89-73.
Trevor Mbakwe sat on the bench for the bulk of the first half, the Star Tribune says, and no one else stepped up for Minnesota until late in the game. Sophomore point guard Andre Hollins scored 17 of his 24 points in the second half.
The Pioneer Press calls the loss embarrassing.
Minnesota now has four losing seasons in the Big Ten in six years under Tubby Smith, which includes the last three seasons.
