It’s a No. 10 seed for the Golden Gophers and they will face No. 7 seed Louisville in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday.
The game tips off at 11:15 a.m., so it’s the first game of the Round of 64 and will be televised on CBS with a broadcast crew featuring Kevin Harlan, Reggie Miller, Dan Bonner and Dana Jacobson.
Minnesota could have a bit of a home-court feel since the game is being played in Des Moines, Iowa.
If Minnesota wins, they’ll advance to play the winner of No. 2 seed Michigan State and No. 15 seed Bradley on Saturday with a trip to the Sweet 16 on the line.

This is the second time in five seasons under head coach Richard Pitino that the Gophers have been invited to the NCAA Tournament. They were a No. 5 seed in 2017 and were upset in their opening game by 12-seed Middle Tennessee.
Minnesota has just one win – 2013 over as an 11-seed over 6-sUCLA – in their last seven NCAA Tournament games dating back to 1999.
Tourney note: North Dakota State will face Duke, the No. 1 overall seed, if they top North Carolina Central in the 16-seed play-in game.
