Top-seeded Indiana beat the Gophers, 4-2 in the second round of the Big Ten baseball tournament Thursday night at Target Field.
The Hoosiers jumped on Minnesota with three runs in the first inning and held on for the win.
Trailing 4-2 in the ninth, the Gophers put the tying run at first base but couldn’t deliver the big hit.
Minnesota will play Illinois in an elimination game Friday at 12:05 p.m. The Gophers beat the Illini, 3-2 in the opening round on Wednesday.
