The Gophers will be without their leading receiver A.J. Barker on the road against Nebraska Saturday. It will be the third straight game he’s missed with a sprained ankle.
Without Barker the pressure on true freshman quarterback Philip Nelson will be even greater. Expect the Cornhuskers to bring a lot of pressure on Nelson, especially if Minnesota winds up in third down and long situations.
Defensive tackle Roland Johnson and reserve linebacker Lamonte Edwards are also out with injuries. Wideout Derrick Engel who missed last week’s victory against Illinois is expected to play.
