No. 25 Rutgers came away with a 66-61 home win over the No. 21 Gophers in Big Ten women’s basketball play Sunday afternoon.
Rutgers found its footing early, leading the Gophers 25-5 midway through the first half.
Amanda Zahui B. helped Minnesota close the gap with 20 points before halftime, bringing the score to 37-31. She score 16 more in the second half for a career-high of 36 for the game, according to Gopher Sports. Zahui B. also had 15 rebounds.
With less than two minutes on the clock, the Gophers went on an 8-0 run, bringing the score to 58-54. But they couldn’t get any closer than that.
Carlie Wagner put up 12 points for Minnesota, and Shayne Mullaney had 11 assists.
Next up, the Gophers host Penn State Wednesday night at home.
