The Cleveland Indians beat up on the Twins 7-3 at Target Field, Saturday night.
The loss snapped a three-game Twins winning streak that featured two walk-off victories, including the series opener Friday night.
Yan Gomes continued to kill Twins pitching, he was 3-for-4 with four RBIs including a three-run homer off of Twins starter Trevor May (3-5).
It wasn’t May’s best night, he gave up seven runs on eight hits in 4 2/3 innings. The loss snapped a stretch of three straight wins from the rookie right-hander.
Cleveland starter T.J. House (4-3) gave up two runs on six hits over five innings to pick up the victory.
The Twins outhit Cleveland in the loss, again they failed to get the timely hit.

Gomes’ three-run blast broke open a 4-2 game in the fifth inning. It was his 20th of the season. David Murphy also had a pair of hits and drove in and scored a run. Mike Aviles also drove in a pair of runs.
The Twins tried to put a late rally together in the eighth.
Trailing by five, Brian Dozier hit a home run to lead off the eighth, his 21st of the year. Joe Mauer and Trevor Plouffe had hits to put runners at first and second, but Indians’ relievers C.C. Lee and Mark Rzepczynski were able to get the last two outs and escape the inning, without any more damage.
Rzepczynski picked up a four-out save, his first ever.
The Twins and Cleveland will close the series on Sunday. Corey Kluber (16-9) starts for Cleveland. He will face Anthony Swarzak (3-1) for the Twins.
