Twins general manager Terry Ryan says it’s a safe bet that Kyle Gibson will be starting games for the Twins at some point in 2013.
When exactly he makes his debut is the big question. The right-hander out of Missouri says he wants to get to the big leagues “as fast as I can.”
It’s possible that he’s in the Twins’ opening day rotation, but Ryan wants to see how he competes in spring training first.
Ryan also spoke highly of prospect Aaron Hicks. Don’t be surprised if Hicks makes the jump from AA to the big leagues and starts in center field for the Twins on opening day.
