The Minnesota Twins fell to the San Francisco Giants on Friday night, 6-2.
The game didn’t start well for Twins starter Kyle Gibson. The Giants Pablo Sandoval hit a three-run home run, in the first inning, to give some early run support to Giants starter Tim Lincecum.
Gibson fought threw it, but gave up five runs on five hits in five innings of work. He was tagged with the loss and drops to 4-4 on the season.
Lincecum didn’t seem to have his best control as he walked six, but he never really got hurt because of it. He escaped trouble several times as the Twins stranded 10 runners on base. He gave up just two runs in six innings and picked up the win.
Joe Mauer was the bright spot for the Twins offense. He was 2 for 5 with a triple. He drove in one run and scored the other for Minnesota.
Joe Mauer finds the gap for an RBI triple! His first triple since 2012. #MNTwins now trail the Giants 3-1.

Other than Mauer’s triple the Twins didn’t have much offense. Chris Parmelee drove in Mauer in the third. Brian Dozier was 2 for 5 in the game as well.
The Twins and Giants continue their weekend-series Saturday night at 9:05.
